Reported 6 months ago

NASCAR officials penalized Austin Hill with a $25,000 fine and a 25-point deduction in the Xfinity Series driver standings for his involvement in a crash with Cole Custer during last weekend's NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway. The incident resulted in a cut tire for Hill, eventually forcing Custer's car into the inside retaining wall. Hill's penalty drops him to third place in the standings, with Chandler Smith taking the lead. Additionally, two Craftsman Truck Series teams were penalized for lug-nut violations after Friday's race at Charlotte.
