Oil tofu from Keelung snack stall found with whole cockroach, netizens mockingly say 'even got filling'

Reported 9 months ago

Recently in Taiwan, concerns over food hygiene have been raised as a cockroach was discovered inside a piece of oil tofu being sold at the longtime establishment 'Tian Yixiang' in Keelung Temple Street Night Market. The incident has sparked discussions online, with one customer sharing photos and a video of the unexpected addition. After complaints, the stall only offered to waive the fee, leading the customer to question the ethics behind such a response. Following the exposure, Keelung City Health Bureau inspected the stall and ordered them to immediately cease oil tofu sales. It was revealed that the tofu supplier, Dechang Tofu Shop, had unsanitary production conditions and was instructed to halt operations until passing a follow-up inspection.
