Despite some quirks and hiccups, users cannot easily turn it off. While muting options are available on the mobile apps of Facebook and Instagram, they only offer temporary solutions. The AI assistant also appears under posts on Facebook news feeds, providing additional information. Expert advice includes using the basic mobile site or living in a country where Meta AI is not yet available to avoid the chatbot. Overall, navigating around Meta AI may be challenging with no simple off switch in place.
