Only 1 in Taiwan: Neihu Police Cemetery Near Full Capacity

Reported about 1 year ago

Neihu Police Cemetery in Taipei, the only one in Taiwan, is nearing full capacity with burials of police officers who died in the line of duty. To address this, the National Police Agency plans to build a new southern branch in Kaohsiung, expanding eligibility to include firefighters and coast guard personnel, with construction set to begin in 2030 after government approval. The current cemetery in Neihu has limited space, and due to transportation issues for families from central and southern Taiwan, there is an increasing need for a new site. The new branch will offer over 18,000 niches, as well as ash scattering and flower burial areas to accommodate future demand and ensure a balanced distribution across regions.
