Taiwanese startup AI laser optical technology company Oomii announced their IPO plan and signed a listing guidance contract with Fubon Securities on June 20th. Oomii, founded in October 2018, has successfully integrated laser visual aid technology into AR smart glasses for the visually impaired, obtaining FDA certification in May this year and completing patent layout in multiple countries. The smart glasses use AI+AR technology to assist visually impaired individuals with enhanced environmental recognition, warning of surrounding objects, navigation functions, cloud storage of visual images, voice recognition, and IoT operation, aiming to improve efficiency in daily life and work for the visually impaired. Oomii is also collaborating with major teaching hospitals to address AR smart glasses for macular degeneration. Oomii's AR 3D surgical navigation system, aimed at assisting physicians in minimally invasive orthopedic surgery, obtained multiple medical invention patents in May 2023. Oomii is also developing the MolRx software and hardware system to shorten the timeline for new drug development by using AR 3D imaging, haptic feedback systems, and specialized MD molecular dynamics simulation systems.
