On June 26, 2024, the Legislative Yuan's Committee on Health, Environment, and Foreign Affairs and National Defense jointly reviewed the memorandum of understanding on labor cooperation between Taiwan and India. Minister of Labor, Hsu Pei-Shan, announced that the introduction of Indian migrant workers will focus on direct recruitment and agency-based recruitment, primarily in the manufacturing industry. The initial trial will involve a small-scale of no more than 1,000 people. The decision on opening Indian migrant workers has been confirmed!
