FTNN News Network reported that Ku Chih-en, a Kuomintang lawmaker, plans to push for the review of the nuclear power extension law amendment in the Education and Culture Committee in early July. Democratic Progressive Party lawmakers, including Lin Yi-chin, oppose the amendment, accusing the KMT of harming future generations. Xu Yuzhen of the KMT criticized DPP lawmakers for opposing the amendment to benefit private power plants in Tainan, accusing them of ignoring national security and raising electricity prices to benefit their friends at the expense of the people. Xu pointed out the cost differences between nuclear and gas power and criticized the DPP's energy policy as draining the public's pockets. She suggested a reevaluation of Taiwan's energy policy and emphasized the importance of addressing energy issues for national security and strategic interests, urging the administration to take a practical approach to the country's energy problems.
