The political battle over parliamentary reform legislation has sparked concerns in both blue and green camps, with the 'bluebirds' launching recall activities targeting several newly-elected blue camp lawmakers, as well as a civil group initiating a recall of Keelung Mayor Xie Guoliang petition entering its final stage. Observing the recall movements across various regions, DPP insiders today expressed disapproval, fearing it could backfire; veteran media personality Zhou Yukou agrees with this viewpoint, analyzing Xie Guoliang's situation as difficult for re-election, and warns that recalling KMT lawmakers Xu Qiaoxin and Ye Yuanzhi would not be easy. He suggests that if the DPP wishes to cultivate talent, they should manage well. Additionally, a DPP member analyzing the recall trend suggests that the referendum bill is expected to be rejected as usual, leading the DPP caucus to propose constitutional interpretations and temporary measures in the shortest possible time. The member emphasizes that the exercise of the recall right leads to more problems than solving them, and most democratic advanced countries have not adopted this system. Therefore, caution is advised when initiating recalls to avoid hatred and confrontation politics becoming the main focus.
