Outback Steakhouse has closed 21 restaurants as part of a comprehensive turnaround strategy aimed at competing with trendier rivals. Parent company Bloomin' Brands announced that additional locations will be shuttered in the coming years, alongside a $33 million charge for the closures. As part of the revamp, Outback plans to invest $75 million over three years, introducing new menus and enhancing the dining experience, while facing increasing competition from brands like LongHorn Steakhouse and Texas Roadhouse.
