In the first round of the French parliamentary elections, Marine Le Pen's 'National Rally' won victoriously, while over 210 center or left candidates withdrew yesterday (7/2) to unite and concentrate votes, aiming to prevent the far-right 'National Rally' (RN) from gaining an absolute majority and forming a government. Marine Le Pen labeled Macron and the left's cooperation as 'shameless alliance'. The exact number of withdrawals has not been officially announced, but according to BBC, between 214 to 218 candidates withdrew, with at least 126 from the left-wing alliance 'New People's Front' (NFP) and at least 78 from President Macron's centrist ruling coalition 'Together'.
