Effendiya, a 70-year-old pilgrim from Egypt, died from the scorching heat during the recent pilgrimage in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, where temperatures reached 51.8 degrees Celsius. She had sold her jewelry to afford the trip, which was organized by a local broker promising 5-star service but fell short. Effendiya and other 'unofficial visitors' were left without essential services, causing her sons to witness her struggling before her death. Despite the tragic incident, her family found solace in fulfilling her wish to be buried in the holy city. The pilgrimage, a pillar of Islam, ended in unexpected fatalities, leaving many questioning the circumstances of these unregistered pilgrims. Efforts are being made to identify and contact the families of the deceased to provide closure.
