On June 17, 2024, a poll by the Chinese Asia-Pacific Elite Exchange Association revealed that a significant 61.4% of the public supports the Executive Yuan's proposal for reconsideration, while 55.1% are unaware of the details of the amendment, indicating a lack of support for the parliament reform amendment version backed by both blue and white lawmakers. In response, Kuomintang Legislator Wang Hongwei criticized the reliability of the Democratic Progressive Party's polls, highlighting that if they were trustworthy, figures like Chen Shih-chung, Cheng Yun-peng, Shen Hui-hong, and Cai Shiyin would already be mayors. The poll also showed that over 61% of the people are dissatisfied with the performance of current legislators, with dissatisfaction rates among blue and white legislators exceeding 50% and around 46% for green legislators.
