Over a Hundred Leaders Gather in Switzerland for Ukraine Peace Summit

Reported about 1 year ago

Young Daily News Agency, June 15, 2024 - Over a hundred leaders from around the world gathered at Lake Lucerne in central Switzerland on June 15 for a 2-day Ukraine Peace Summit to discuss Kiev's proposed peace plan, as well as issues related to Ukraine's nuclear facility safety, food security, and humanitarian aid. While Russia and China were absent, various leaders, including representatives from the Italy G7 summit, engaged in talks with President Zelensky for a '10-point plan' to end Ukraine-Russia conflict, aiming to restore the pre-1991 Soviet dissolution borders. Despite Russia's absence, the summit is seen as a diplomatic victory for Zelensky, putting pressure on Moscow. Prior to the summit, Russian President Putin proposed a new peace plan rejected by the US and Ukraine, calling it 'untrustworthy.'
