The call to abolish the Examination Yuan resurfaces as DPP legislator Chen Ting-fei leads a proposal with support from 29 party members, but DPP caucus convenor Ko Chien-ming states in an interview that it is not the focus of this legislative session and won't be addressed in the next 4 years, potentially contradicting his own party members. While Ko Chien-ming supports the abolition, he delays action for four years, essentially freezing the voices advocating for abolishing the Examination Yuan. Regardless, the proposal garners support from 29 party-affiliated legislators including Huang Chieh, Hung Shen-han, and Wang Shih-chien. Chen Ting-fei appeals for the establishment of a 'Constitutional Amendment Committee' under Legislative Yuan President Han Kuo-yu to push for the abolition, while lawmakers Lin Chu-yin and Chiu Chih-wei emphasize the need for societal consensus and timing before proceeding with the amendment.
