Apple has agreed to a $95 million settlement for a lawsuit claiming that its virtual assistant, Siri, eavesdropped on users without their knowledge, breaching privacy commitments. The suit, filed after a 2019 report alleged Siri was listening beyond the wake phrase, could see up to $20 awarded per eligible consumer, pending court approval. While the settlement addresses significant privacy concerns, Apple denies wrongdoing and contends they would have prevailed if the case had gone to trial.
