Pakistan is facing an outbreak of Crimean-Congo Haemorrhagic Fever (CCHF), with a death rate of around 30% within two weeks of contracting the virus. Two fatalities have already been reported, leading to urgent measures being implemented. CCHF is a tick-borne viral disease causing severe symptoms like joint pain, headaches, vomiting, bleeding from the eyes, and fatal bleeding from the nose and extensive bruising, with potential death within two weeks of onset. Authorities in Rawalpindi have been conducting strict inspections on sacrificial animals brought to markets to prevent the spread of the virus.
