Panama Canal Initiates Selection Process for LPG Pipeline Project

Reported about 5 hours ago

The Panama Canal Authority has initiated a competitive process to select a company to design, build, and operate a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) pipeline, which is projected to cost between $4 billion and $8 billion. This project aims to address growing demand for services and increase revenue following a recent expansion. The pipeline, forecasted to handle 2 million barrels per day, is expected to contribute between $1 billion and $1.2 billion annually to the canal's income. A selection is expected by late 2026, alongside plans for new ports in the canal area.
