The price of Paracetamol is set to increase by around 8% to 10% starting July, with the general price rising to 179 yuan for 12 tablets and 295 yuan for 24 tablets. Due to increased demand following the rise in electricity prices, pharmacists are recommending alternative options with the same active ingredient ('acetaminophen') at half the price. The price adjustments are due to rising international economic costs, and the suggested retail prices for Paracetamol will increase by 9 to 20 yuan each.
