Paramount Global and Charter Communications have reached a new carriage deal that includes offering the Paramount+ "Essential" tier and BET+ Essential to Charter's TV subscribers for free, along with other Paramount-owned networks. This multi-year agreement will also allow for the Paramount+ with Showtime plan to be available at no cost for Spectrum's Paramount+ with Showtime linear customers. The deal comes at a crucial time for Paramount, following the recent ousting of CEO Bob Bakish and ongoing acquisition talks. Charter's agreement to market Paramount's direct-to-consumer products to its Internet-only customers is expected to generate revenue for both parties.
