In Taichung, Taiwan, a group of parents planned to take their sixth-grade children on a graduation trip to New Zealand at the end of June. One parent, pretending to be a travel agency contact, collected cash payments from other parents promising a discounted summer tour. However, on the day of departure, it was revealed that the trip was never booked. The main organizer had deceived the others, collecting money but not registering with the travel agency. The victims were reimbursed for the scam, and authorities advised consumers to always verify with registered travel agencies and avoid cash payments to individuals to prevent such fraudulent schemes.
