With less than a month left until the opening of the Paris Olympics in France on June 29, the latest test results for the Seine River, the planned venue for the events, show that the concentrations of intestinal enterococci and E. coli in the water still exceed EU standards by 2 to 4 times, potentially affecting the triathlon swimming event and open water swimming competition. Despite efforts by the French government to clean up the Seine River, the water quality remains a concern due to unfavorable conditions.
