The administrative branch proposed a reconsideration of the Parliament Reform Law today in the Legislative Yuan, which was rejected by a joint vote of 62 to 51 by blue and white KMT and DPP legislators. The Presidential Office stated that upon the reconsideration result, both the executive branch and DPP Legislative Caucus plan to request constitutional interpretation, which the President will respect and evaluate carefully upon receiving the consultation. The reconsideration of the Parliament Reform Law proposed by the executive branch was voted down in the Legislative Yuan. The Presidential Office spokesperson mentioned that when there are doubts in the review process and content of the law, the President, as a guardian of democratic constitutionalism, will carefully consider national development and democratic values to safeguard people's rights.
