In response to President Lai Ching-te's announcement yesterday that he would apply for a constitutional interpretation, Premier Chen Chi-mai stated that careful planning and research are currently being conducted. President Lai Ching-te announced on the 24th his intention to apply for a constitutional interpretation and interim disposition regarding amendments to the 'Legislative Yuan's Exercise of Powers Act' and the 'Republic of China Criminal Code.' Premier Chen Chi-mai mentioned that the Executive Yuan is carefully planning the interpretation work and will make a decision as quickly as possible through the appropriate procedures.
