Following the enactment of the Parliamentary Reform Act on July 2, 2024, opposition parties such as the Kuomintang and the Minjindang in the Legislative Yuan initiated parliamentary inquiry rights. A joint meeting of the Legislative Yuan's Transportation, Judiciary, and Legal Committees was held to discuss the establishment of a 'Mirror TV Investigation Task Force' and operational details. Despite protests and walkouts from DPP legislators, the blue and white coalition successfully passed the formation and operation points of the investigation team, which will run from July 3 to December 31, 2024. This marks the first activation of parliamentary inquiry rights after the passage of the Parliamentary Reform Act, with a focus on the National Communications Commission and related agencies.
