Control Yuan, represented by the Director of the Inspection and Investigation Bureau, Yang Chang-xian, along with attorney Li Yuan-de, submitted a request for constitutional interpretation and temporary measures at the Constitutional Court regarding amendments related to parliamentary powers in the 'Legislative Yuan Exercise of Powers Act' and 'Criminal Code'. This action marks the fourth constitutional institution to simultaneously request constitutional interpretation. The amendments were passed on May 28 by the Legislative Yuan and became effective on June 26, despite objections from the Executive Yuan and President's Office. Control Yuan argues that these amendments infringe on their investigative rights and violate the principle of separation of powers as per the Constitution.
