Parliamentary Power Amendment Takes Effect Today, Premier Su Tseng-chang: Feels Good, Will Not Violate Law by Example

Reported 9 months ago

The parliamentary power amendment officially took effect today (6/28), and Premier Su Tseng-chang went to the Legislative Yuan for a policy questioning session. Responding to questions from legislator Chang Ching-chien about how he felt throughout the day, Su Tseng-chang expressed that he felt good and reassured that he will not violate the law by example. The focus on Su Tseng-chang’s questioning session comes as the amendment introduces the new ‘Contempt of Parliament’ offense. Chang Ching-chien urged Su Tseng-chang to serve as an appropriate role model, suggesting not to avoid questioning, not to evade answering, not to lie, or make false statements – to which Su Tseng-chang affirmed his commitment.
