The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Legislative Yuan caucus announced they will request a constitutional interpretation regarding the Legislative Yuan's rejection of parliamentary reform amendment review, sparking attention. Nationalist Party (KMT) legislators criticized the Grand Justices for lacking a popular mandate and being gatekeepers of the DPP. Judicial Yuan's Deputy Secretary-General Huang Lin-lun, in response, questioned the fairness of such comments, emphasizing the society's judgment. The Legislative Yuan Judiciary and Constitution Committee examined proposals from the Taiwan People's Party, KMT legislator Weng Hsiao-ling, and DPP legislator Liu Chien-kuo regarding amendments to certain articles of the Organization Act of the Courts. Huang, Minister of Justice Ching Ming-chien, and others attended for explanations and questioning. Regarding President Lai Ching-te's intention to refer parliamentary reform laws for constitutional interpretation, Ching respected the decision. The President signed and announced the legislative reform laws earlier on 6/24, following the constitution.
