In the early hours of June 21, 2024, the vote results on the parliamentary reform revision showed a defeat with 62:51, angering Ke Chien-ming. During the Legislative Yuan meeting on the same day, the outcome revealed 62 votes supporting the original resolution, 51 against, thus the revision was not passed. Ke Chien-ming, the DPP caucus leader, expressed frustration during an interview, promising to present a constitutional interpretation in the shortest time. He criticized the KMT and People First Party for being contrary to public opinion and the constitution, describing it as a path towards political decapitation and a historical shame.
