Reported 8 months ago

On June 21, 2024, the Legislative Yuan voted on a reconsideration motion proposed by the Executive Yuan regarding the parliamentary reform bill passed through three readings. Outside the venue, supporters from the blue camp 'Blue Eagle Action' and the green camp 'Green Bird Action' gathered, leading to tensions. With a total of 113 legislators present, the blue and white parties secured 62 votes against the green party's 51, resulting in the failure of the reconsideration motion. The amendment included provisions such as normalizing the President's annual national report to the legislature, with requirements for immediate responses to queries by legislators, posing criminal penalties for disrespecting parliament, and emphasizing the President's accountability to the legislature.
