Reported about 1 year ago
On July 6, 2024, in Pingtung City, a taxi driver refused to transport a passenger after an argument ensued when the passenger allegedly opened and did not close the trunk properly. The driver became angry, physically pushed the passenger, and eventually drove off without the passenger. Eyewitnesses mentioned that the dispute arose from the passenger's actions regarding the trunk, but no police report was made. Similar incidents of driver-passenger conflicts over minor issues were also reported in other areas like Nanzih District in Kaohsiung. Taxi drivers expressed their reluctance towards passengers handling the trunk due to fears of damage, yet incidents escalate due to misunderstandings or miscommunication.
