Passenger's Daughter Suffers Ear Bleeding on Flight to Korea, Insurance Company Fails to Assist

Reported 8 months ago

A complaint was filed by Mr. Zhu from Taichung on June 24, 2024, at 7:09 a.m., stating that his daughter and family encountered a pressurization issue on their flight back from South Korea on June 22, resulting in the plane returning to Korea. His daughter's ear started bleeding and required medical treatment in Korea. Despite having purchased travel insurance with overseas emergency assistance coverage from two companies, costing over 5,000 NTD, the insurance company did not provide any assistance when contacted for help in changing the flight. The insurance only covered certain services such as consultation, luggage handling, medical referrals, hospital arrangement, cost advancement, etc., but not flight changes or emergency medical flights without physician assessment.
