Finnish defense industry giant Patria announced a partnership agreement with RTX subsidiary Pratt & Whitney to establish a phased F-35 fighter jet engine production line and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities in Finland. This marks Finland's official entry into the F-35 supply chain, creating a significant milestone in the field of national defense. The first phase, scheduled from 2025 to 2030, will see the construction of the manufacturing and assembly line for F135-PW-100 engines in Linnavuori, with plans to expand capabilities to support the Finnish Air Force and neighboring countries' F-35 jets in the future.
