PC Shipments Decline in Q3 Despite AI Hype

Reported 2 months ago

In the third quarter of 2024, global PC shipments fell for the first time in three quarters, declining by 1.3% year over year to 62.9 million units. The decrease was most pronounced in China with a 10% drop, while the US and Japan saw growth. Despite initiatives to promote AI PCs, demand has not surged, as consumers remain hesitant to see clear benefits. Analysts predict that while Q3 was tough, overall demand is expected to rise towards the end of 2024, with significant growth anticipated in 2025.
