After four years of attempts, the Peabody Awards ceremony will finally be held in Los Angeles on June 9. Initially planned for relocation in 2020, the event went virtual due to the pandemic, and the following year was canceled due to Hollywood strikes. This year, Peabody is set to make a comeback with 34 winners spanning various categories, emphasizing storytelling focused on social and political issues. Noteworthy awardees include FX’s 'The Bear,' HBO’s 'The Last of Us,' and critically acclaimed series like 'Last Week Tonight With John Oliver.' The event will also feature special achievement awards for icons like Mel Brooks and new talents like Quinta Brunson.
