Amid ongoing controversies over Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) plants in Taoyuan, Minister of Environmental Protection, Peng Qiming, emphasized on Facebook that he is a strict guardian of environmental protection, not an executioner. He announced plans to conduct a comprehensive inspection and industrial guidance for SRF manufacturing plants and usage sites to create a good industrial environment where waste is transformed into energy. There have been disputes surrounding the entry of three SRF plants into the Taoyuan Science and Industrial Park, prompting Minister Peng Qiming to spearhead the environmental check-up process.
