Penghu-registered fishing boat 'Da Jin Man 88' was seized by mainland Chinese coast guard in Kinmen waters while conducting operations, prompting the Agriculture Bureau's Fisheries Agency Director Zhang Zhisheng to stress that the area is usually a common operational zone for fishermen from both sides. He urged mainland China to handle the matter pragmatically and requested the prompt release of 'Da Jin Man 88' and the safety of its crew. The incident occurred amidst legislative scrutiny of the 'Marrakesh World Trade Organization Agreement Amendment Protocol'.
