Before last year's legislative election, the People Party proposed a 'two-year clause' in the at-large list, stating that incumbent at-large legislators must resign after serving 2 years, to be replaced by subsequent candidates. However, there are now internal disagreements within the party regarding this clause. Ko Wen-je commented that once the rules are set, they should be followed, emphasizing the party's aim to bring in new talents. The party is currently addressing concerns about the transition and alignment of positions. Ko Wen-je reiterated that the rules set by the People Party must be followed to allow new talents to enter, dismissing notions of only experienced politicians being suitable for the role.
