On July 5, 2024, the People's Party expelled Wu Jingyi and suspended Zhang Kaijun for 2 months. Wu Jingyi, a party member, often criticized party chairman Ko Wen-je on political talk shows, leading to her expulsion after continued attacks despite a previous suspension in April. Meanwhile, Central Committee member Zhang Kaijun faced suspension for inadequate application procedures when attending a forum in China. The People's Party clarified that Wu Jingyi had never worked as Ko Wen-je's aide, contrary to her claims, and stated they would amend procedures for future public activities.
