On June 19th, Taipei City's Animal Protection Department received a report in the Da'an District of a pet dog falling from a 6th-floor balcony and found the dog had no signs of life upon arrival. The dog likely fell due to being frightened by thunder. The owner, who was not at home during the incident, was devastated upon learning the news and admitted to forgetting to lock the window, speculating that the dog, who had a habit of opening doors, might have been scared by thunder and tried to escape through the window, leading to the tragic accident. The department reminded pet owners to secure doors and windows to prevent such incidents from happening.
