A 47-year-old man surnamed Dang invested 4 million in opening a pet shop in Neihu, but faced challenges obtaining business registration due to disputes with the upstairs neighbor, ultimately leading to his girlfriend discovering him dead in the store. Renowned lawyer Yang pointed out a legal solution a month ago, suggesting suing the neighbor for breach of contract over a promised balcony repair in exchange for a signed consent, providing evidence that could lead to a quick court decision. However, after the tragic incident, the upstairs resident accused the pet shop of proceeding with renovations before obtaining written consent and bringing attention to the need for legal reform regarding land use regulations in Taipei. Yang emphasized the necessity of legal amendments to prevent similar disputes and tragedies from occurring in the future.
