In May of this year, a pet shop owner in Neihu District, Taipei City, tragically took his own life due to financial pressure resulting from a dispute with the upstairs owner. The pet shop owner had invested heavily in renovating the shop and helping the upstairs owner with repairs, but the upstairs owner refused to sign an agreement, causing delays in the shop's opening. The upstairs owner clarified to the media that they did not oppose the shop opening, but simply did not sign the agreement as it was not necessary for operating a pet supplies store. The incident has sparked discussions online, with some questioning the specifics of the agreement between the parties.
