On June 27, 2024, a 47-year-old pet store owner surnamed Dang died by suicide in his store on Xingyun Street in Neihu District, Taipei. The owner had faced obstacles in operating his pet grooming business due to a dispute with a tenant on the second floor last month. Despite seeking approval from neighbors to open the store, he faced difficulties after the tenant on the second floor demanded free repairs in exchange for consent, which was not fulfilled. The owner, who was passionate about animals, tragically ended his life in the store, leaving behind no suicide note. Police are still investigating the cause of his death.
