Petrobras has approved plans to seek a partner to restart its fertilizer plants in northeastern Brazil, but the move is contingent on resolving disputes with current leaseholder Unigel. These plants, which have been inactive since 2023 due to high natural gas prices, are crucial for Brazil, the world's top fertilizer consumer, which relies on imports for over 80% of its needs. A formal tender can only proceed once an arbitration agreement is reached regarding their operational shutdown and related issues.
