The Philadelphia Phillies played their worst defensive game of the season and suffered a loss to the San Francisco Giants. Pitcher Taijuan Walker struggled with consistency and his best pitch, the splitter, as opponents hit .514 against it this season. The Phillies committed three errors leading to runs, including two by Alec Bohm in a fielding slump. Despite some offensive highlights, including Kyle Schwarber's two-run homer, the Phillies couldn't maintain their lead and lost 8-4. With a 38-17 record, they look to bounce back with ace Zack Wheeler starting the next game against the Giants.
