Two drowning incidents occurred consecutively at Mai Khao and Surin beaches in Phuket, Thailand on the 16th and 17th. The victims included a Russian national and an American citizen along with a Thai nurse. Lifeguards warned visitors to be cautious and erected red flags at dangerous beaches. Authorities investigated and found no signs of foul play on the bodies that washed ashore. This marks the second American drowning in two weeks on Phuket Island.
