A 60-year-old correctional officer surnamed Zhong from Pingtung Prison passed away on June 17th after collapsing and being unable to be revived following a dispute with a detainee who kicked and aggressively threw a chair at a door. Despite immediate CPR and two days of hospital care, Zhong could not be saved. The incident has shocked the prison and efforts are being made to support Zhong's family in handling matters related to his work-related death.
