Poland Seeks Help from 3 Allies to Deal with Belarus Hybrid Warfare

Reported about 1 year ago

On July 4, 2024, Polish officials announced plans to request Germany, Greece, and Finland to deploy border personnel or police to assist in border patrols and strengthen their response to the hybrid warfare and military threats from Belarus. Poland seeks help from these countries due to their experience in border protection to prevent illegal immigration, as the number of people attempting to cross into Poland and Finland from Russia surged. Polish Defense Minister Kaminski noted that some immigrants entering from Belarus had military training and even attacked border guards, prompting Warsaw to address the issue at the upcoming NATO summit and appeal to allies for increased attention and assistance.
