Polestar has commenced production of its Polestar 3 SUV in South Carolina, a move designed to circumvent tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles. CEO Thomas Ingenlath emphasized that this production plan was established years ago as part of a broader strategy to localize manufacturing, ensuring their all-electric SUV fits the U.S. market. The Polestar 3, priced starting at $74,400, will not face tariffs, marking a significant milestone for the company as it aims for a stronger presence in the luxury electric vehicle segment.
