On June 8, 2024, New Taipei City police cracked down on a new fraud group that used the method of impersonating convenience store 'Sell Goods Conveniently' customer service to deceive online users, causing 7 victims to lose approximately 1.46 million yuan. The police arrested the delivery driver, account receiver, and main suspect and transferred them for legal processing. The fraud group disguised as sellers in a Facebook group, lured buyers with fake lottery prizes, and tricked them into transferring money to designated accounts under the guise of completing transactions through the convenience store service. This case is the first in Taiwan to catch main suspects involved in this type of scam, with charges of fraud and money laundering pending.
