On the evening of June 18th, police in Taoyuan stopped a man named Wu with suspicious test license plates during a crackdown on drunk driving. The next day, another car with the same test plates drove in, revealing that both drivers were employees of the same used car dealership. Investigations found that the dealership had purchased four fake test license plates online to save money, leading to their arrest. The police highlighted the seriousness of forging or altering license plates, with penalties reaching up to a year in prison or a fine of NT$18,000 for each offense, and emphasized the legal consequences of such actions.
